  • Land Redevelopment Office

The City of Columbus, Ohio, has roughly 7,000 vacant and abandoned properties within its jurisdiction and owns approximately 400 of them. The Land Redevelopment Office ("Land Bank") was established in 1994 and has been expanded with federal fund allocation in order to expedite neighborhood revitalization strategies such as rehabilitation, new builds, community gardens, and demolitions where necessary. Strategically identifying communities willing to build upon public investment and proactively seeking new partnerships and sources of funding will help the Land Bank to ramp up redevelopment efforts and also demolish 900 blighted homes through 2015.
